Specialized assistance for students who are wheelchair users and students with hidden disabilities. The lead instructor is a wheelchair user and has been teaching adapted kung fu and self defence since 2012, both in scunthorpe north Lincolnshire and in east riding for over a decade.

In addition to our FREE CLASS (every Thursday from 6pm to 7pm), we also host two regular classes on Thursdays and Fridays at the Alf Marshall Community Centre in Bransholme, HULL. We provide Kung Fu lessons on Thursdays from 7pm to 8pm and Self Defence sessions on Fridays from 8pm to 9pm. These classes are offered at an accessible low cost, ensuring everyone can join in the fun.
Receive expert martial arts training from an experienced and passionate instructor, who has dedicated 13 years to teaching as a Wheelchair Qualified Instructor of Self Defence and Kung Fu. In the late 1990s, he also provided instruction in Ryu Karate, Boninjitsukan, and Sacred Fist Self Defence as an able-bodied instructor.
While Sifu Gooch no longer teaches the three styles mentioned above, he draws from those lessons and his 33 years of experience as a lifelong martial arts practitioner. He is committed to sharing his unique system of martial arts, known as the Hidden Fist System, with students both online and in-person during his regular classes held at the Alf Marshall Community Centre in Bransholme, HULL.
Hidden Fist Academy has created a welcoming and empowering environment for all students. Has part of our newly developed syllabus for our martial arts students, we have created a step by step, program in which students will advance through the basic, intermediate and advanced levels of our styles and systems, learning the essential skills needed to become a fully qualified instructor of our styles and system of martial arts. These are known as the 12 Key Levels of Hidden Fist.
At the Hidden Fist Academy our aims are to make martial arts accessible to everyone. To accomplish this we set all fee's low so it is affordable to grade and train at our facility, new students will only be graded when they are ready and their is no set limit has to when they can grade. Our Grading schedule works for both students and instructors giving students time to learn their syllabus correctly and encouraging them to grade on a regular basis when they are ready to grade not just went the instructors exspect them to grade. All grading fee's are set at £35 per grading upto Brown/White Sash

Our Program understands that peer pressure and out of date attitudes may impact your decision to train with a instructor who is a wheelchair user. Yes it is unusual but did you know that a wheelchair user gets a better view of how body mechanics work in martial arts, Sifu Gooch has spent the last 23 years learning and adapting everyday martial arts to suit both wheelchair users and able bodied students. Our Fitness and Wellbeing program caters towards all students at our inclusive club, do you have disability or if you have a hidden disability or are an wheelchair user, then our club is for you. We also cater for students who are able bodied, all ages excepted all abilities welcome.
The Hidden Fist Academy welcomes all new and old students attending our classes. All of Our Class fees are set at a low rate to encourage students to attend without any financial barriers.

Yes, Hidden Fist Academy welcomes both disabled individuals and able-bodied students with or without hidden disability difficulties. We offer an inclusive environment for all. The Lead Instructor is Deaf and a Wheelchair user himself and has been teaching for over a decade has a qualified disability sports instructor in the arts of kung fu and self defense.
The Hidden Fist Academy operates on Thursdays from 6pm till 8pm and Fridays from 8pm till 9pm to accommodate a range of schedules. However we do also offer a out of hours service for our online classes and private classes. Students can contact Sifu Gooch directly for these services.
